Nasdaq's Worst Week Since June Meets Chip Earnings: The Week of October 19-23, 2026

Nasdaq fell 4.5% last week. Now TXN, LRCX, INTC report inside three days with the Fed in blackout. The dated week-ahead calendar, in ET.

What is on the calendar for October 19-23, 2026?

The week is earnings-heavy and data-light. About 215 companies report, with Meta, Tesla, Texas Instruments, Lam Research and IBM all landing after the close Wednesday. Global flash PMIs print Friday. The Fed is in its blackout period before the October 28 meeting, so no policy speakers will move rates. Earnings carry the tape.

Third-party calendars put 215 companies on the schedule for the week, with 28 on Monday, 45 on Tuesday, 82 on Wednesday, 170 on Thursday and 25 on Friday. Those counts and the before-open or after-close tags come from an unofficial aggregator, so confirm each date on the company's investor relations page before building a plan around it.

Why does the chip earnings cluster matter after the Nasdaq's worst week since June?

The Nasdaq Composite fell 4.5% last week, its worst stretch since June, and chips led it down. Four chip-linked reports now sit inside three days: Texas Instruments and Lam Research on Wednesday evening, Intel and Western Digital on Thursday evening. The group is reporting into a drawdown, so guidance matters more than the quarter just ended.

The Nasdaq closed Friday at 26,140.03, down 2.1% on the day and 4.5% on the week, while the S&P 500 finished at 7,659.44, down 1.9% on the week. The Dow gained roughly 0.7% over the same stretch. Micron and Intel fell about 5.6% and 5.8% on Friday alone.

Texas Instruments is the cleanest read because its date is confirmed. The company scheduled its Q3 call for October 21 at 3:30 PM Central, which is 4:30 PM ET. It guided Q3 revenue to $5.65 billion to $6.15 billion, a wide range, so where the print lands inside it and what Q4 looks like will set the tone for analog and industrial demand. Lam Research and Intel dates were not confirmed at publication.

Which mega-cap reports land on Wednesday and Thursday?

Wednesday after the close is the heaviest slot: Meta, Tesla, Texas Instruments, Lam Research, IBM and Ford, per the aggregator. Thursday before the open brings Procter & Gamble, Honeywell, Mastercard and Union Pacific. Thursday after the close adds Intel and Capital One. Friday morning has Chevron and American Express, with Exxon timing unlisted.

Netflix is the earliest big-cap print, reporting Tuesday after the close on the same schedule. Tesla and Meta sharing Wednesday evening means the same overnight session carries two of the largest weights in the Nasdaq 100 and one of the most crowded retail names. That concentration is the real risk to an index already down 4.5%, because a single gap can move futures before Thursday's open.

Treat every date above as provisional until it appears on the company's own release. Aggregator calendars shift by a day more often than traders assume.

What economic data and Fed events fall in the same window?

Not much, and that is the point. The Fed is in blackout ahead of the October 28 decision, so there are no scheduled policy remarks. The outside-US calendar is the main macro input: China Q3 GDP Monday (consensus 4.4%), UK CPI Wednesday (consensus 3.4% against 3.1% prior) and global flash PMIs Friday.

The US data that matters arrives the week after. The FOMC decision comes October 28 at 2:00 PM ET, followed by the BEA release schedule slot for GDP and PCE on October 29 at 8:30 AM ET. With the Fed quiet and data thin, earnings guidance is the only fresh information markets get this week, which is why the reaction to chip commentary can carry further than usual.

How do traders read earnings week with no Fed voice?

Implied moves and guidance language do the work that Fed speakers normally do. In a blackout week, an earnings gap is not offset by a rate-path headline, so single-name moves tend to flow straight into index futures. Watch what management says about demand, inventories and capex, because that language feeds the next leg of the Nasdaq trade more than the quarterly beat.

The pattern to track is dispersion. If chip names rally on guidance while the index stays heavy, the drawdown was positioning. If they sell off on good numbers, the selling was about the multiple. Either read comes from the tape, not from a forecast.
